REINVENTING THE RURAL
EDUCATION MODEL
"In Zambia, 91% of students are FAILING to meet desired standards."
-- Zambia National Assessment
According to the most recent national assessment, less than 9% are meeting desired standards in Math and only 6% in English. And only 43% in Math and 29% in English are passing at all.

Millennium Development Goal #2 is to achieve Universal Primary Education. Many are working towards finding solutions. Impact Network's e-School 360 integrates quality into the equation.

In Zambia alone there are 4,000 community schools, representing almost half of primary education. Yet most of these schools lack even the basics, like pencil and paper, textbooks, or skilled teachers. Unsurprisingly, these students are scoring poorly on standardized tests.

The Zambian government spends a large portion of its national budget on education, but with its current model relocating trained teachers into rural areas, costs are more than $100 per student. Continuing this model, little more than 50% of students will have access to government teachers. The eSchool 360 enables local teachers to provide an education of equal or better quality for 1/3 the cost, making Universal Quality Education possible.
