2023 Employee Survey!

Towards the end of each year, we ask employees to give us feedback on a number of items related to their work life to measure their happiness, motivation, and support received. Our aim of collecting this information is to promote and ensure Impact employees' overall wellbeing. Then, at the start of each new year, the management team reviews and discusses the responses. We pull out the most positive areas where we have done well and the least positive areas, where there is an opportunity to improve. For 2023, the areas where there was a high level of satisfaction from teachers was around the coaching support they receive. Additionally, teachers felt that the teacher guide from our curriculum team helps them prepare good lessons for their students. Overall, employees said that they feel respected by their colleagues and are comfortable expressing their opinions and ideas during team meetings or discussions.

An area where we have an opportunity to improve is on work-related communication, employees highlighted a few areas where they thought things could be improved. During the management training session last week, the team set about brainstorming ways in which we can improve.

In the end, we agreed to our commitment for this year, and agreed that all managers will work towards improving communication by ensuring both prompt sharing of information and responses to queries. Considering that our schools are in quite remote areas and some have very poor or no cellular signal, it is an ongoing challenge for everyone to receive information on time. Supervisors were urged to consider the various barriers to communication and use multiple channels of communication such as text, WhatsApp, calls, written information and passing the message through a colleague visiting the school when sending out information.

We are still not done though! The next steps for the academics department is to review all submissions from teachers about the curriculum, coaching and other forms of support that teachers they are requesting in order to improve lesson delivery. The senior management team will also dive deeper into individual responses and discuss any additional concerns that need to be addressed to ensure our employees’ well-being.

Thank you to our whole team for ensuring our team’s wellbeing!
